Building today,

to power tomorrow.

DC01UK is a state-of-the-art data centre proposal, one of the largest in the UK and Europe.

DC01UK has been designed to meet the needs of today while preparing for the demands of tomorrow.

The proposals will deliver unparalleled infrastructure, ensuring the UK economy can continue to thrive in an emerging digital age. The development will support our growing reliance on digital services such as streaming, online banking, cloud storage, and other platforms that underpin everyday life.

Providing over two million square feet of data centre floor area on land east of South Mimms Services, the project represents a multi-billion-pound investment opportunity and will be one of the largest data centre developments in Europe. It is expected to generate thousands of skilled jobs throughout the construction and operational phases, alongside significant wider economic benefits. The proposals fulfil a crucial national need for data centre infrastructure, supporting some of the world’s leading technology companies and advancing the way we use online services and artificial intelligence.

In January 2025 a resolution to grant outline planning permission was passed by Hertsmere Borough Council, establishing the principle of development. Specific details such as appearance, layout, landscaping, and scale will be determined at a later stage.

The proposals are also accompanied by a range of local enhancements and community benefits, including contributions towards local transport and infrastructure improvements, as well as skills and employment initiatives.
