DC01UK submitted an outline planning application in September 2024, a resolution to grant planning permission was approved by Hertsmere Borough Council’s Planning Committee in January 2025. The outline consent provides for over two million square feet of data centre floor area.

In October 2025, the site was sold to Equinix, one of the world’s largest data centre owners and operators.
